Alexandra Harvey, MPH, MSW, RD, LDN (she/her)
Hi! I’m Alex, a Boston-based registered dietitian. While I’ve always loved food, I first became interested in nutrition, professionally, while providing mental health counseling for children. Originally intending to become a therapist, my early work experience underscored for me the connection between health, mental health and nutrition. Following the completion of my masters in social work and feeling inspired to set out on a (slightly) different path than originally intended, I went back to school to study nutrition and public health. I then completed a dietetic internship at Tulane University & Medical Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. Not surprisingly, my love and appreciation for food, cuisine, and culinary culture only deepened during my years in New Orleans!
As a registered dietitian, I have worked at various levels of care, including inpatient, residential and outpatient settings. While covering the intensive care unit, I built a strong clinical understanding and applied medical nutrition therapy to a broad range of illnesses. More recently as a dietitian in residential and outpatient settings, I have helped clients meet their nutritional needs while exploring their connection to food, health and body image. Guided by an anti-diet, HAES® paradigm, I’m deeply passionate about empowering my clients to reclaim their relationship with food and wellness.
